Dear Friends in the Lord Jesus:

Welcome to this year’s celebration of Ash Wednesday and

the beginning of Lent, a time of grace for all of us.  It is a

time of prayer, or self-reflection and conversion.  These

forty days of Lent lead us to the Holy Week and Easter.

Who are we who gather today?  Some cone here daily,

others weekly, and some very seldom.  To all of you without

distinction, I say WELCOME in the name of the Lord

Jesus Christ.  I want you to know that you are always welcome.

Ash Wednesday very dramatically calls on us again to put

first things first in our lives, to get our priorities of life

correct so that we might be found to be good stewards of

God.  May all of us turn our back on sin and evil and false

goods, and turn our lives over to Jesus Christ, who is the

Way, the Truth, and the Life.  It is never too late to turn

back to the Lord.  He is always waiting for us to find our way

home.  “Now is the day of salvation – now is the acceptable

time”.  We only have the today of our lives to work with.

We do not know if we have a tomorrow or another year or

another Lent.

Let us walk with the Lord this Lent.  Let us walk together.

If you can, attend daily Mass or as often as possible.  We

have Stations of the Cross and Benediction each Friday

evening at 5:00pm.  Always attend Sunday Mass with

fidelity.  That is central to our Catholic faith.  I want you

to feel part of our Parish family.
